Stroke Patient Case

What is a Video Podcast (vodcast) or MPEG-4 file?
A video podcast (also known as vodcast or vidcast) is the term used for the online delivery of portable movie files that can be downloaded and viewed on your computer or on your video iPod.  Unlike video streaming, a "vodcast" allows multiple viewing from your computer or on your portable iPod, MP3 player and avoids the barriers of inadequate bandwidth and slow transfer speeds.  If you download a vodcast file onto your MP3 player you will have access to the audio presentation of the file.

Do I need an iPod or an MP3 player to watch and listen to video podcasts?
Not at all. You can watch and listen to vodcasts directly from your computer. If you want to take it with you, any iPod or MP3 player will work.

Do I need iTunes to download video podcasts?  Is iTunes compatible with my PC?
Yes, iTunes is available free at http://www.apple.com/  iTunes is compatible with PC and Macs.  Once downloaded, iTunes will serve as your access menu for audio (MP3) and video (MPEG4) files.

How do I download a podcast into my iPod or MP3 player?

  • Simply right click with your mouse on the vodcast link

  • Select Save Target As and choose a destination for the vodcast download (desktop, file folder).

  • Once the file has downloaded, which will take about five minutes for an hour presentation, click on the file icon.  The MPEG-4 file will transfer to your iTunes MOVIE menu.

  • You can take it with you... connect your iPod or MP3 player to your PC or Mac and transfer the movie file from the iTunes menu by dragging the file to the player icon.  Remember, podcast movies and audio files are only downloadable once into iPods and MP3 players.  The file will remain in your iTunes menu for additional viewing on your computer.

  • You can view the movie or listen to the audio file from your computer by clicking on the file in your iTunes menu. The toggle bar will allow you to stop, advance, pause for your viewing convenience.

Now that you are ready to vodcast... we welcome you to download and view our offerings of archived presentations.
